EVERYONE IS RESPONSIBLE AND SHOULD PLAY THEIR PART IN CREATING SAFE, FUN AND INCLUSIVE ENVIRONMENTS. NO MATTER WHAT YOUR ROLE IS – PARENT, PLAYER, SUPPORTER OR COACH – LET’S WORK TOGETHER TO UNITE THE GAME.

At Penkridge Junior Football Club, we take pride in our approach which is at the heart of grassroots football. Our committee members and football coaches give their time for the young players to play with their friends, learn football skills, learn how to be a team player and most importantly to have fun.

HAVE YOU HEARD THE SAYING ‘WE ONLY DO POSITIVE’?

If you are involved with us, we hope you have. It’s simple, at PJFC we want everything we do to be positive whether that’s, training, practices, matches it’s important that our actions and our words align to being ‘positive’. We don’t want children to be anxious or too upset to play because of something a coach, parent or supporter may say from the sideline, and are committed to the FA’s code’s of conduct. If you haven’t already seen them take a look.

Respect isn’t just something we give our players, and coaches who give up their time for free, it’s something we also give to the referee – yes even if they haven’t given us the decisions we expect. A lot of the referee’s are children, so before shouting out “Oh Referee!” or anything more stronger, please take a deep breath, walk away and remember -they’re kids, all of them.

There are useful pages on the FA’s website about the power of positivity. Below is a video of Gareth Southgate England Men’s Football Manager talking about it in more detail. If you would like to visit the FA Respect pages, please click the button below.
